3:30 p.m.: That might have been enough to make Turner Gill break his own no-cursing rule.
Kansas' 6-3 loss to North Dakota State in Gill's opening game as head coach was one ugly affair. It was painful to me listening to the second half on the radio while driving home from the UCLA-Kansas State game.
Penalties. Turnovers. Wasted timeouts. Blown assignments. You name something bad and it happened to the Jayhawks.
It was a particularly tough night for tight end Tim Biere out of Omaha Westside. Biere, touted through spring and fall camp as one of the team's bright spots, lost two fumbles and dropped two other passes in the second half.
Up next for KU is Georgia Tech at home and Southern Mississippi on the road. Major improvement needs to come quickly.
